Why I’m Really Looking Forward to It
I always find these afternoons at the RA to be the perfect mix of creativity, curiosity, and community. This year’s Architecture Room is curated by Assemble, and the theme—“spaces for making”—already has me intrigued. There’s something so satisfying about hearing directly from the architects themselves, especially when they open up about their creative processes and how their studios shape their work.
There’s usually a great buzz in the room—people from all over, interesting conversations, and that moment after the talks when you find yourself chatting with a total stranger over a glass of wine about plywood, Brutalism, or the best buildings to nap in. And if that isn’t enough, the ticket includes a chance to wander through the Summer Exhibition once it opens later that evening, which is always a treat.
It’s not just about learning—it’s about soaking up the atmosphere, seeing fresh perspectives, and walking away with new ideas (and maybe a sketch or two in your notebook).
