An Art Nouveau embossed copper pitcher, attributed to Joseph Sankey & Sons, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. Executed in characteristic period taste, the vessel features repoussé floral motifs articulated with flowing whiplash curves. The piece is fitted with a hinged lid surmounted by a finial top and is completed by a cast metal handle.

Joseph Sankey & Sons was an English metalware manufacturer active during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, renowned for producing decorative copper and brass wares.
