An early Liberty & Co Tudric pewter jug probably from a design by Archibold Knox.
Liberty launched its Tudric range in 1902 (Tudric being known at the time as a superior form of pewter with a higher silver content than other pewters or ‘poor man’s silver’).
The Tudric range included both functional household items as well as decorative items - Its leading designers included David Veasey, Oliver Baker, Arthur Silver and the most prolific designer - Archibald Knox.
This jug is decorated with enamel ‘coins’

Engraved on the bottom ‘Xmas 1904’
